MARCH OF PARKS-2024

The annual environmental campaign “March of Parks – 2024” has been launched in the Republic of Kazakhstan since March 2024.
The purpose of the campaign is to draw public attention to the problems of preserving unique natural complexes and facilities, raising the prestige of national parks and reserves, and providing them with real assistance.
During the March of Parks, nature reserves, national parks, reserves, and wildlife sanctuaries hold lectures, open days, children’s environmental events, thematic exhibitions, volunteer aid campaigns in support of specially protected natural areas, press publications, and radio and television broadcasts. This year, the March of Parks campaign has been held for more than 3 months. In order to form a conscious and careful attitude towards nature among the younger generation, a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND STRATEGIC COOPERATION was signed in June this year between the Gymnasium No. 17 in Kokshetau and the Russian State University of Economics and Technology “Kokshetau”.
In the future, it is planned to assist the gymnasium school in carrying out environmental education activities, familiarization with natural monuments and objects of historical and cultural heritage, organization and conduct of hiking trips and excursions for students of the gymnasium school in accordance with the educational program. It also promotes the work of the school forestry department, scientific conferences, seminars, Olympiads, competitions and other events. This memorandum shall enter into force on the date of signature by both parties.
During the “March of Parks”, specialists of the National Nature Park visited educational institutions, gave lectures, conducted talks, seminars, quizzes and excursions, talked about the role of national parks in preserving the nature of Kazakhstan, about the environmental problems of our region, in particular, and in Kazakhstan as a whole.
During the lectures, the staff of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry demonstrated a video about the national park, and also introduced students to booklets, brochures, and brochures depicting picturesque corners and natural monuments of the national park. Conversations were also held in agricultural formations and akimats of rural districts about respect for nature and prevention of fires in forests. A total of 104 talks and lectures were held.
During the “Bird Day” campaign, quizzes and extracurricular activities dedicated to birds of their native land were held in city and district schools, and work was carried out in settlements to install 300 birdhouses. The children were happy to help hang up the birdhouses, and then they looked forward to the arrival of the feathered residents. The total number of participants in the action was 174 people.
During the March of Parks campaign, open lessons, environmental games, educational hikes, and scientific and practical conferences dedicated to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation were held in educational institutions.
In April of this year, an action “All-Kazakhstan Forest Planting Day” was held on the territory of the Kokshetau State National Nature Park. The purpose of the campaign is the preservation and restoration of forests, the development of public interest in the conservation and enhancement of forest resources. Landscaping of settlements has been carried out on the territory of the Russian State State Scientific and Production Enterprise “Kokshetau”.
On the territory of the Karaultobe forestry department of the Arykbalyk branch, employees of the Kokshetau State State Enterprise, together with local executive bodies (akimats), schools and residents of the districts, planted 29 pine seedlings. Planting of 4,000 seedlings of Scots pine on the lands of the Zerendinsky rural district. This action was attended by 50 employees of the Zerendinsky housing and communal Services, the Zerendinsky akimat of the rural district and the Russian State University of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Kokshetau”.
As part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign, Cossack juniper seedlings were planted on the territory of the arboretum of the Ayyrtau branch and 200 pieces of ordinary pine and 150 pieces of ordinary spruce on school sites in the district. 55 people took part in the event: state inspectors, rural district workers, schoolchildren and boarding school teachers, including 10 students. During the planting of seedlings, the mandatory rules for improving survival and the necessary proper care were described.
A clean-up day was held on the territory of the arboretum. Workers removed dry, broken and unwanted trees, shrubs and debris. The event was attended by 8 people, employees and employees of the branch.
On the All-Kazakhstan Forest Planting Day, 10 seedlings of Scots pine were planted in the office of the Shalkar branch, 5 seedlings in the forestry department. Akan – seri and 5 seedlings in the Shalkar forest area.
Together with the specialists of the State Scientific and Production Enterprise “Kokshetau”, 27 seedlings were planted on the territory of schools in the city of Kokshetau. Graduates of schools took an active part in the tradition of “Plant your tree” on the school grounds in some educational institutions there is a separate alley for graduates.
Also, with the joint work of employees of branches and schools, “Clean Shores” actions were held, as well as within the framework of the environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”, as a result of which, the participants of the action cleared the territory of coastal zones, the coastlines of Zerendinskoe, Imantau and Shalkar lakes of garbage. On the territory of the Ayyrtau branch, cleaning was carried out along the shores of the Kumdykol and Akbas lakes, and the spring was cleaned. The vehicles involved were MTZ-82.1 – 3 units and one trailer, UAZ farmer – 2 units, Niva-3 units. 328 people took part in the action. 5.5 tons of garbage were collected and removed.
In the Ayyrtau branch, state inspectors in all schools of the district held talks, gave lectures on the beauty of nature and the diversity of butterflies, took part in open lessons and quizzes on the topic “Experts in nature”, “Day of Birds” and quizzes on the topic “Rules of behavior in the forest”. A total of 148 schoolchildren took part.
On the territory of the Arykbalyk branch, state inspectors held talks and lectures on schools, hung birdhouses (80 birdhouses were made), planted seedlings, and involved 127 schoolchildren and teachers in the Clean Shores environmental campaign. Guided tours to nature museums were conducted, and 5 elementary school students visited the museum.
In the Shalkar branch, employees of the forest protection carried out actions together with pupils of rural schools, students of the Zeynep Higher College (Lobanovo village, Ayyrtau), “Each starling has a palace”, birdhouses were hung in the amount of 100 pieces. We conducted conversations with schoolchildren on the following topics: global environmental problems, the history of the “March of Parks”, rules of behavior in the forest, and the careful protection of forests from fire. We gave lectures about protected areas. We also held talks among residents of the rural district and agricultural formations about fire safety and rules of conduct in the forest. An action “Clean Shores” was held along the shores of the lakes, where schoolchildren, social workers of the rural akimat and students of the Zeynep Higher College took out 3 trailers of solid waste in the amount of 1800 kg. An action “Taza Kazakhstan” was held on the shore of Lake Lobanovo together with the village akimat, students of Lobanovskaya secondary school, students of the Zeynep Higher College collected 500 kg of solid waste.
On the territory of the Zerendinsky branch, conversations were held with schoolchildren of the district on the environmental topics “The benefits of birds”, “The history of National parks”, “Rules of behavior in the forest”, “Rules of fire safety in protected area forests”. The campaign “Every bird has a nest and a feeder” was held, 5 birdhouses were hung on the territory of the village of Krasny Kordon, 25 students took part. There were 5 guided tours at the Visitor Center for school students. As part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” campaign, a clean-up day was held with students of the secondary school of the village of Krasny Kordon on the shore of the pond. 45 people took part. The employees of the branch cleaned the springs, the territory of the Museum House and the Zerenda-Red Cordon highway as part of the Taza Kazhastan campaign.
The Ormanda Bulak branch gave 19 lectures and 15 talks, as well as thematic hours on topics: “Take care of nature”, “Take care of birds”, “Bird Day” birdhouses were made and hung up with the students, their parents actively participated. The total number of participants is 25 people. As part of the Taza Kazakhstan campaign, an environmental clean-up was held in the village of Karsak. 14 people took part , the volume of MSW was 0.3 m3 .
Schools actively participated among the educational institutions of Kokshetau:
№1,№2,№3,№4,№5,№7,№9,№10,№11,№12,№13,№14,№16,№17,№19,№21, as well as schools near the nearby villages: Chaikino, Station, S.Krasny Yar hosted ECO-KVN, environmental games, quizzes, etc. The staff of the National Park gave lectures and held talks among the students of the National Park. Shokan Ualikhanov and NAO “Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov”. There are 25 lectures and talks in total. At the end of the campaign, the participants presented their creative works in various declared nominations under the motto “Cherish nature – save the future!”
In May of this year, the branches and the directorate of the Kokshetau National Chamber of Entrepreneurs summed up the results of the March of Parks environmental campaign.
